Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Across South Yorkshire (including schools in South Yorkshire)
Salary: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time / Flexible supply
Start Date: Immediate starts available


About the Role

We are seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and adaptable Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools throughout South Yorkshire, including areas such as Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, and Doncaster.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom in the absence of the regular teacher, delivering pre-set work, managing classroom behaviour, and ensuring students remain engaged in their learning.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates considering a career in teaching, experienced teaching assistants looking to progress, or individuals with strong behaviour management skills and a passion for education.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising whole classes during short-term teacher absences

  • Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials across a variety of subjects

  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies

  • Supporting students to remain on task and complete assigned work

  • Providing feedback to teaching staff on lesson engagement and behaviour


The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with young people (education, coaching, youth work, or similar)

  • Strong communication and classroom management skills

  • Confidence leading a classroom independently

  • Flexibility to work across different schools and year groups

  • A positive, proactive, and professional attitude

A degree qualification is desirable but not essential. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
