Job description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Primary School Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering tailored instruction and support to students with a range of SEN, ensuring that every child receives the individualised attention and opportunities they need to succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess differentiated lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs and abilities of students with SEN, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and specific learning difficulties.
  • Implement and adapt the national curriculum to meet the individualised education plans (IEPs) and learning goals of students with SEN, fostering their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching strategies, resources, and assistive technologies to engage and support students in their learning, ensuring access to the curriculum for all learners.
  • Collaborate closely with SENCOs, teaching assistants, and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the well-being and progress of students with SEN.
  • Regularly assess student progress and provide feedback to inform instructional planning, intervention strategies, and IEP reviews.
  • Establish positive relationships with parents/carers, providing regular communication and updates on student progress and supporting their involvement in their child's education.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching in a primary school setting are essential.
  • Specialisation or experience in SEN, including training in supporting students with ASD, ADHD, and other SEN conditions, is highly desirable.
  • A strong understanding of SEN legislation, best practices in inclusive education, and effective strategies for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents/carers, and external professionals.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice to continuously improve teaching and learning outcomes for students with SEN.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
