Job description

Teaching Personnel is a leading education recruitment agency, dedicated to matching talented educators with rewarding opportunities across the UK. We are currently seeking experienced SEN College Teachers to join our pool of dedicated professionals in the M50 Salford area. Our client SEN College Provision provides support for students aged 16-18 with special educational needs, including moderate to severe SEN such as autism, global development delays, profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), and complex learning difficulties.

Overview As an SEN College Teacher with Teaching Personnel, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of Special Educational Needs in a varied setting, delivering engaging lessons and supporting students with moderate to severe SEN in their vocational skills development and employability prospects. This role offers flexibility and the chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons tailored to meet the complex and diverse needs of students with moderate to severe SEN, aged 16-18.
  • Utilise a range of SEN teaching methodologies and resources to support students' access to the curriculum and promote their learning and personal development.
  • Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised learning plans (ILPs) and Educational Healthcare Plans (EHPs) that address students' specific strengths, challenges, and aspirations.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where students feel supported, valued, and empowered to achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to coordinate additional support services and enrichment opportunities for students with complex needs.
  • Regularly assess student progress and provide feedback to inform ongoing teaching and learning strategies, ensuring each student receives the tailored support they require.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with students with moderate to severe SEN, including autism, global development delays, PMLD, and complex learning difficulties, preferably within a further education or vocational setting desirable.
  • Understanding of SEN teaching methodologies and best practices for meeting the complex needs of students with diverse learning profiles.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues and families.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and resilience in responding to the evolving needs of students and educational settings.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
