We are currently working with a school based in Kirklees (WF17) that requires a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher that aspires to help students with complex needs achieve their academic, social and emotional potential. These students require extra, more tailored support to overcome their barriers to learning.
You will be expected to deliver lessons to smaller groups and work with students that have various needs from Autism, Down Syndrome, Speech and Language Difficulties, Physical Difficulties and more. Some of the behaviour might be quite challenging at times so we are looking for someone who can be resilient and compassionate to this. A key aspect of the role is to liaise with Support Staff, SLT and Parents/Guardians to signpost where each student is at with their learning and implement engaging tasks to challenge them further.
The school is commit ed to driving it's students, that span across Key Stages 1-4, to achieve their targets and become empowered and employable in the future. It is based in Kirklees and is easily accessible by public transport. The role is full time though this can be flexible for the right candidate.
