Southampton KS1 Assistants Required

Job description

We are currently looking for a number of staff to work in our primary schools based in Southampton. You must have some experience working with children and have a 'can do' attitude.

Responsibilities of A Primary Teaching Assistant:

  • Working alongside the class teacher to ensure pupils are focusing and on-track during lessons
  • Leading 1:1 and intervention group sessions with pupils who are both under-achieving and high-achieving
  • Act as a positive role model school wide and provide support in other year groups when necessary
  • Providing general support in marking/setting homework, creating displays and preparing lesson resources.


  • Dealing with children at young ages
  • Passionate in helping children and playing a vital role in their lives
  • Assisting with other teachers to deliver the best outcome for the children

The work on offer is very flexible and works to your availability and preferences. Many schools use the same supply Teaching Assistants once they have built a relationship with you, so work is always available. The demands for supply are always high.
