SEND Teaching Assistants & Learning Support Assistants
Job description
SEND Teaching Assistants & Learning Support Assistants | Hastings & Battle
Patient, adaptable and good at building relationships with young people? Your experience could be valuable in SEND education.
I’m looking to hear from Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants and people with relevant transferable skills around Hastings, Battle and surrounding areas.
This is an opportunity to discuss your interest in specialist education and be considered for suitable work as school requirements arise.
What experience could transfer?
Alongside existing SEND staff, I’m happy to speak with people from:
-
Mainstream schools
-
Care and support work
-
Youth work and mentoring
-
Sports coaching
-
Tutoring
-
Other roles supporting children and young people
Some settings require specialist experience. For others, your ability to communicate, maintain boundaries and adapt your approach could provide a useful foundation.
Build your understanding with Thrive
Through Teaching Personnel, educators can access Thrive Approach: Introductory Skills & Strategies.
The course introduces practical, relationship-based approaches to supporting pupils’ emotional and developmental needs.
Taking part is optional, but a specialist setting in Hastings particularly values this training. It could strengthen your preparation for future opportunities there and support your practice in other SEND settings.
A conversation about you
Before recruitment, I worked directly within SEND education myself.
We’ll discuss your strengths, availability and the environments you feel most comfortable in, alongside any training that could support your next step.
Pay & practical information
TA and LSA opportunities are paid from £92.60 per day.
You’ll need an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service. If you don’t currently hold one, you’ll need to apply through us and join the Update Service. I’ll support you through the process, with the associated cost covered by the applicant.
We’ll require your full employment and education history and references covering 24 months of employment in total where possible, prioritising recent and relevant employment.
Interested?
Apply and tell me about your experience and interest in SEND work around Hastings and Battle.
Please also mention if you’d be interested in completing the Thrive introductory course.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
