SEND Teaching Assistant Opportunity - Chorley
A mainstream primary school in Chorley is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support children within its resource provision. This position offers the chance to play a vital role in helping pupils with additional needs achieve success both inside and outside the classroom.
The successful candidate will work alongside experienced teaching and SEND staff to provide targeted support and promote positive outcomes for pupils.
Duties Include
- Supporting pupils with SEND on a one-to-one and small group basis.
- Assisting with personalised learning programmes and interventions.
- Encouraging participation, independence, and confidence.
- Supporting behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
- Working collaboratively with teachers and SEND professionals.
- Creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Experience supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Previous experience within a primary school environment.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Positive, resilient, and caring approach.
- Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
- Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
