Teaching Personnel are working closely with a thriving 1.5 form entry Catholic Primary School (Academy) and Nursery, part of Kent Catholic Schools Partnership, on the outskirts of Margate. It serves a mixed community of Catholic and non-Catholic children covering the parishes of Margate, Cliftonville, Westgate and Birchington. The staff is committed to developing a passion for learning in every child with a focus on Gospel values, creative teaching and outdoor learning; the school regards its entire community as learners too. The school seeks regularly to revise and improve its work and to learn from what is done.
The post is for an Inclusion Manager (SENCo), who will oversee provision for vulnerable groups across the school, including those with SEN&D, EAL and those considered disadvantaged
Your responsibilities as a SENCO will be:
To meet regularly with the Heads of Departments to report on student progress
Teaching and supporting students with a range of special/additional educational needs, SEN with Support and those who have an Education, Health and Care Plan
To produce individual and group reports
To monitor individual student progress and provide additional intervention where individuals have difficulty achieving expected outcomes
Classroom management
To be successful in the SENCO role, you must:
Qualified teacher status
have completed and achieved the National Award for SEN Co-ordination
Have experience of teaching students with a range of learning and behaviour difficulties associated with specific learning difficulties
Must work well with staff and pupils alike
Have strong classroom management skills
The successful SENCO will be offered:
