SEN TUTORS NEEDED
Job description
Join the TPTUTORS Team – Make a Difference as a Tutor
At TPTUTORS, we’re expanding our network of dedicated tutors to support a growing number of student referrals. We work closely with Local Authorities and Schools to provide high-quality, personalised tuition to learners across a wide range of needs and subjects.
About the Role
We’re looking for experienced and passionate tutors to join our team on a part-time basis, typically offering between 10–15 hours per week. However, opportunities are flexible, with roles starting from as little as 1 hour per week depending on the referral.
We are particularly keen to hear from tutors with expertise in Special Educational Needs (SEN), though we also receive referrals for subjects such as Business Studies, Languages, and others.
Tuition can take place either:
-
In-person (at the student’s home or a local public venue like a library or community centre), or
-
Online, based on the needs of the student and family.
Key Responsibilities
-
Deliver tailored one-to-one tuition aligned with each student’s unique educational needs.
-
Design and deliver your own lesson plans and materials to promote progress, particularly in core subjects.
-
Submit detailed session reports after each lesson via our secure virtual platform – these are vital for ongoing assessment, monitoring, and payroll processing.
-
Track and assess student progress, adapting your teaching methods as needed.
-
Communicate regularly with students, families, and TPTUTORS consultants to ensure smooth, transparent support and timely escalation of any concerns.
Requirements
-
A degree in Education, Special Education, or a related subject.
-
At least 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience.
-
Strong understanding of the UK education system.
-
Proven ability to adapt teaching strategies to suit individual learners.
-
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Working Conditions
-
Flexible, part-time hours: from 1 hour per week and up.
-
Temporary roles, often continuing until the student secures a school placement. Some assignments may extend over multiple academic years.
-
Session scheduling is largely flexible and can be arranged between you and the student’s family, although some sessions may have preferred timings.
What You’ll Need if Successful
-
A Microsoft Teams call to discuss your experience and the onboarding process.
-
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply – link provided; applicant covers cost).
-
10-year career history.
-
References covering the last 5 years.
-
Proof of right to work in the UK.
-
Proof of address.
-
Safeguarding training (we will provide this).
-
Proof of name change (if applicable).
-
Overseas criminal clearance (if applicable).
-
A professional photograph for your tutor profile.
