SEN Teaching Assistant Required!

Do you have experience working with SEN children within a School environment as a Teaching Assistant?

Teaching Personnel is working alongside one of their client Secondary schools in Nottingham, aiding them in recruiting a new Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant. Due to a last minute staffing gap, our client school are hoping to recruit a new Teaching Assistant to join their current Support department.

  • Part-time SEN Teaching Assistant role for immediate start
  • Opportunity to work in a Good Ofsted rated Secondary school.
  • Support students with Special Educational Needs both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Earn up to ÂŁ350 per week, dependent on experience.

Roles and responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will support pupils with special educational needs across Key Stage 3 and 4 and in a number of different subject areas.
  • Monitor progress and report this back to other members of the support department.
  • Work with children in small groups and on a 1:1 basis when withdrawn from mainstream lessons.
  • Attend to pupil's personal needs and implement related personal programmes, including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters.
  • Through the use of schedules, support students in understanding instructions from the class teacher.
  • Monitor pupil's behaviour and promote positive behaviour management.

Application Requirements

  • You must have experience working with children or young people or have skills that can be transferred to the educational sector.
  • Any experience with SEN or behavioural difficulties is also necessary.
