PMLD Teaching Assistant – Medway
I am currently recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistants (LSA) for a prestigious and popular SEN secondary school in the Medway area. This position is to support pupils with PMLD (Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties) and complex/medical needs.
The Position:
• A popular Medway SEN Specialist School
• GBP65 – GBP70 per day, depending on experience
• Provides a creative and artistic learning environment to pupils
• People with care worker backgrounds are welcome
The ideal candidate will have experience of supporting students with special educational needs, particularly with PMLD and complex/medical needs. We welcome candidates with care worker background as well as recent graduates who are looking to build their experience working with SEN pupils. We also welcome candidates who never worked in school settings but has transferable skills supporting students with special educational needs.
You will be supporting students with Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex/medical needs. Many of the students will communicate non-verbally and wheelchair users, and being able to use Makaton or PECs will be ideal. You will be required to support with personal care (feeding and toileting). You will also assess individual learning needs and work on a group basis.
