We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our dynamic team at a welcoming and well-resourced Special Educational Needs (SEN) school. Starting in September, this is a full-time position (Monday to Friday) during term time.

You will work closely with class teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance to pupils with a range of complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and/or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Your role will be vital in helping students access the curriculum, develop key life skills, and build their confidence and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEN

  • Support students with their learning, communication, and social development

  • Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents/carers

  • Maintain a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment

Essential Requirements:

  • Full-time availability (Monday to Friday, term-time)

  • Experience supporting children in any setting

  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

  • Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working in an SEN setting or with children/young people with additional needs

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, TA/SEND training, etc.)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
