Job description

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs (SEN)? Teaching Personnel’s Secondary/SEN branch in Liverpool is currently recruiting full-time SEN Teaching Assistants to support schools across the Wirral area.

The Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs (including autism, ADHD, social/emotional difficulties, and learning challenges).

  • Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to deliver individualised learning and behaviour support.

  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

  • Build strong relationships with pupils, offering encouragement, patience, and consistency.

What We’re Looking For:

We welcome applications from candidates with a variety of backgrounds, such as:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or Mentor.

  • Care and support backgrounds (youth work, residential care, support work).

  • Graduates interested in pursuing a career in education or SEN.

  • Individuals with transferable skills who are passionate about supporting children and young people.

You must either already hold, or be willing to apply for, an enhanced DBS registered on the update service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
