SEN Teaching Assistant

A secondary school in Warrington is looking to recruit a SEN Teaching Assistant from September at the start of the new academic year. The successfully appointed SEN Teaching Assistant is required from Monday 7^th September for the entirety of the school year with the opportunity to take on a school-based contract for the following academic year.

Working with the school’s SENCO, the SEN Teaching Assistant will be based in both classes and in the school’s internal resource centre. Whilst working in classes, the SEN Teaching Assistant will be supporting identified students who have additional needs. This will include assisting a small group of students who have Autism, ADHD and moderate learning difficulties.

Working within the school’s internal resource centre will find the SEN Teaching Assistant supporting the lead teacher with the teaching of a variety of subject material. This will involve working with students in a similar way to general classes but sometimes on a 1:1 basis.

Given the above aspects of the role, any prior experience of supporting students in this way is highly desirable but transferable experience is also relevant from a care capacity perhaps. Any experience of working within a school environment should be highlighted on your application accordingly.
