Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new opportunity this September?

A specialist SEN school in Walton-on-Thames is expanding with the launch of its brand-new Primary provision, alongside its existing Secondary school. They're looking for passionate and experienced Teaching Assistants to join their growing team and support pupils with a range of additional needs across both settings.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive school during a period of growth, helping to create an inclusive environment where every child can succeed.

The Role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs.
  • Support students in accessing learning and achieving personalised learning targets.
  • Encourage communication, independence and positive behaviour.
  • Build positive relationships that promote confidence, wellbeing and engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and the wider SEN team.
  • Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant in a school is essential.
  • Experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH or other additional needs.
  • A patient, resilient and proactive approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Training such as Team Teach, Makaton, PECS, Thrive or Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is desirable but not essential.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEN.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
