Are you a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity in a specialist education setting?

We are recruiting on behalf of a highly respected specialist school in Surrey that supports children and young people aged 7–19 with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and therapists to support pupils both in and out of the classroom. You will help create a positive, engaging learning environment, encourage independence, and provide tailored support to enable every pupil to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with their learning and personal development.

• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities.

• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.

• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists and other professionals.

• Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs.

• Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within education or SEND.

• A patient, caring and resilient approach.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.

• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.

• Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
