The Role

As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals to provide tailored support that enables pupils to thrive both academically and socially. You will play a key role in creating a structured, engaging and positive learning environment while supporting pupils with their individual learning, communication and emotional needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.

• Support children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated communication and learning needs.

• Assist teachers in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons.

• Encourage independence, confidence and positive social interaction.

• Implement behaviour support strategies and maintain a calm, structured classroom environment.

• Adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil needs.

• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, parents and external professionals.

• Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusion at all times.

About You

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs is essential.

• Experience working with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) is highly desirable.

• Patient, caring and resilient with a positive attitude.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Able to build strong relationships with pupils and colleagues.

• Flexible, proactive and committed to supporting every child's development.

• Relevant Teaching Assistant or Learning Support qualifications are desirable but not essential.
