SEN Teaching Assistant – Secondary SEN School (Walton-on-Thames)

We are excited to be recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and forward-thinking SEN school in Walton-on-Thames. This is a full-time position with an immediate start, offering a fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing school community.

The school currently supports secondary-aged students with special educational needs, and is expanding to open a primary provision in September—making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow with the school long-term.

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 8:30am – 3:30pm

About the Role:

You will initially be supporting students within the secondary SEN setting, working closely with teaching staff to provide tailored, compassionate support that enables students to thrive both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-class and one-to-one support for students with SEN
  • Assist in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
  • Support students’ emotional regulation and wellbeing
  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN
  • Relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential)
  • A proactive, flexible, and positive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
