Experienced SEN Teaching Assistants Needed – Esher
Esher | Primary SEN Unit
Monday–Friday | Full-Time | Long-Term Opportunity
We’re currently looking for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join a specialist primary SEN setting in Esher, supporting pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and associated needs, including Autism.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone confident supporting pupils with complex learning, communication and sensory needs, who is comfortable providing a high level of care and support throughout the school day.
The Role
- Full-time, Monday–Friday, long-term position
- Support primary-aged pupils with SLD, Autism and associated needs
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support based on individual pupil needs
- Support pupils with communication, sensory regulation and learning difficulties
- Assist with personal care where required
- Promote independence, engagement and positive behaviour
- Adapt activities and communication approaches to meet individual needs
- Work closely with teachers and the wider SEN team
We’re Looking For
- Previous SEN experience is essential
- Experience supporting pupils with Autism and complex learning difficulties
- Comfortable supporting with personal care
- Understanding of communication and sensory needs
- Calm, patient, proactive and resilient approach
- Strong ability to build positive relationships with pupils
- Full-time availability
The setting provides specialist training around autism, sensory regulation, PDA, masking and supporting autistic learners, making this a great opportunity for an experienced SEN TA looking to further develop their knowledge.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
