SEN Teaching Assistant Required for a 3-19 SEN School in Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan.

Are you looking for your next step as a Teaching assistant working with children who have additional learning needs? Then we have an opportunity for you!

Teaching Personnel are currently working in partnership with a Specialist Special Educational Needs school in Penarth who are currently looking to employ a number of Teaching Assistants to support the class teacher in the implementation of an adapted curriculum which is accessible for all. The school caters for children who have a range of additional learning needs which include; Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Moderate Learning Difficulties and Sensory Impairments. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone who would like to start a career within the specialist sector. 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience or an interest of working with children who have additional learning needs including; Autism & Challenging Behaviour. 
  • Be motivated, passionate and have the right attitude to help support children throughout their daily life. 
  • Have a good sense of humour & the ability to fit into a strong team. 
  • Be available full time - part time is also considered

What you really need to know about this opportunity:

  • You will be supporting children with Additional Learning Needs within a 3-19 provision.
  • You will need to be able to build rapport with young people and the wider team quickly and effectively.
  • You will Gain experience and a better understanding of additional needs to support your future career aspirations.
  • You will have an abundance of support from the staff team within the school and our specialist SEN brach. 

This school has a large focus on promoting and developing life skills and as such the successful candidate would need to be motivated, passionate and have the right attitude to help support the children through their educational journey. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
