SEN Teacher – Lowestoft

Teaching Personnel is partnering with a number of specialist SEN schools across Lowestoft and the surrounding areas that are seeking dedicated, resilient, and compassionate teachers to join their teams. These schools support pupils with a wide range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), Speech and Language needs, and other complex learning requirements.

The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment where every pupil can thrive. You will adapt learning to meet individual needs, celebrate small achievements, and help students build confidence, independence, and essential life skills.

No two days are the same in specialist education. The role can be challenging at times, but the impact you make on pupils' progress and wellbeing is incredibly rewarding.

We Are Looking For:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or currently working towards gaining QTS
• A passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs
• Patience, resilience, and a positive approach to overcoming challenges
• Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
• The ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Experience That Would Be Beneficial:

• SEN school experience
• Experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), SEMH, ADHD, or learning difficulties
• Knowledge of EHCPs and differentiated learning approaches
• Therapeutic or trauma-informed practice experience

However, applications from teachers with mainstream experience and a genuine interest in SEN are welcomed.
