Job description

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: NN3 Northampton

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for SEN Specialist Teaching Assistants to work in our schools in and around the Northampton area, specifically NN3. We have a variety of schools with various support opportunities working with children with different types of SEN.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing dedicated support to secondary-aged students with SEN. Your resilience, adaptability, and commitment will contribute to the creation of an inclusive and enriching learning environment where students can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with secondary-aged students with SEN, providing individualized or small group support.
  • Implement and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) and maintain records of student progress.
  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, promoting student engagement and emotional well-being.
  • Offer emotional and behavioural support to students, demonstrating resilience in challenging situations.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers and colleagues to ensure the successful integration of students with SEN.
  • Assist with classroom organization and management.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with secondary-aged students with SEN is advantageous.
  • Resilience and the ability to remain calm and composed in demanding situations.
  • Genuine passion for supporting young people and dedication to their personal growth and development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support is a plus but not mandatory.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
