Role - Special Needs Teaching Assistant

Location – Newport

Position – Full time (Secondary school)

Pay – GBP10.20 - GBP13.00 Per Hour

Teaching Personnel are working with a SEN hub in a large secondary school in Newport to recruit a Special needs teaching for the new school year.

The school have identified the need for additional support staff to support the needs of the statement pupils that are coming up from the primary schools. There are a number of students that are going to need support due to them having Autism, this means that they are going to require support and help with their education and wellbeing.

At Teaching personnel we are looking for people who have experience with SEN, this can be within a professional capacity or in the their home life. We are also looking for people who have the transferrable skills that we think would make them ideal for the role these are skills such as tact and sensitivity, a responsible attitude and patience. These are all skills that are essential for working in a SEN department.

The Ideal Teaching assistant

  • Available to work on a full-time basis
  • Has Special educational needs experience
  • Can travel to the Newport area
  • Confident with pressured situations

The Teaching Assistant must have

  • Must have an enhanced DBS (assistance provided)
  • Registered with the education workforce council (assistance provided)
  • A minimum of core GCSE's
  • Available full time Safeguarding Trained (assistance provided)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
