Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support for Non‑Verbal Child (Year 3)

Contract: Full‑time, Term‑time
Pay: £89.85 – £101.79 per day (PAYE)

Teaching Personnel are looking for a patient, nurturing and committed Teaching Assistant to support a non‑verbal Year 3 pupil at Catholic Primary School —a warm, inclusive, and values-driven primary known for its exceptional pastoral care and commitment to the whole child. This is a truly rewarding role where you’ll play a key part in helping a child communicate, engage and thrive both in and out of the classroom.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Providing 1:1 support for a non‑verbal pupil in Year 3, adapting communication techniques to suit their needs
• Implementing strategies to support engagement, emotional regulation and confidence
• Supporting learning activities and working closely with the class teacher
• Encouraging positive peer interaction and celebrating small steps of progress
• Liaising with the SENCO, class teacher and external professionals
• Helping to create a calm, safe and encouraging environment

We’d Love to Hear from You If You Have:

• Experience supporting children with additional needs, non-verbal communication, ASC or SEMH
• A Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
• Patience, compassion and strong behaviour‑support skills
• A genuine commitment to inclusion and helping children succeed
