Year 6 SEN Teaching Assistant – Catholic Primary School, Maghull

Start Date: Immediately after February Half Term
Role Type: Full‑time, ongoing
Location: Maghull

A welcoming and community‑focused Catholic primary school in Maghull is seeking a dedicated, nurturing, and proactive Teaching Assistant to support a Year 6 pupil with Special Educational Needs.

About the Role

You will work closely with one pupil in Year 6, providing 1:1 support that helps them access learning, build confidence, and thrive in their final year of primary school. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, encouraging, and committed to helping every child reach their full potential.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing tailored 1:1 support during lessons
  • Implementing strategies from the child’s SEN support plan
  • Supporting emotional regulation, confidence‑building, and independence
  • Working collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCo
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, resilience, and engagement
  • Helping the pupil prepare smoothly for the transition to secondary school

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
