KS1 Teaching Assistant- 1:1 Support

Location: Birkenhead (CH41)

Start Date: As soon as possible

Contract: Full-time, Term-time

Salary: £13.75 to £15 per hour

 

About the role:

We are currently seeking a passionate and understanding teaching assistant to provide 1:1 for a non-verbal pupil, who is part of an inclusive and welcoming primary school. This will be a great new opportunity for someone who has the drive to make a huge difference to a child’s educational and emotional growth, whilst also gaining key skills to add to their own portfolio.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting a year group pupil who is non-verbal, on a day-to-day basis.
  • Being able to implement bespoke and tailored strategies to aid engagement and focus.
  • Assist the class teacher to deliver their lessons and behaviour management within the classroom.
  • Encouraging appropriate social interactions and confidence-building.
  • Liaising with the SENCO, pupils’ parents and all external agencies involved.

What we are looking for:

  • Previous Experience supporting Non-verbal children or children with additional needs.
  • Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (Desirable).
  • Commitment to being inclusive of each and every pupil and valuing their wellbeing.
  • Have patience, empathy and strong behaviour managements skills.
  • Have a commitment to ensuring positive pupil wellbeing.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
