Teaching Assistant- 1:1 Non-Verbal Support

Location: Primary School, Wirral (CH41)

Start Date: April 2026

Contract: Full-time, Term-time

About the Role

Teaching Personnel are seeking a committed and understanding Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a non-verbal pupil who is currently in Year 4. We are delighted to offer this amazing opportunity to an individual who is keen to make a difference to this young person’s educational setting but also adding new skills to their portfolio.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Supporting a pupil in Year 4 who in non-verbal on a 1:1 basis
  • Liaising with the SENCO, parents and any external agencies working with the child
  • Encouraging the child to have positive educational and social interactions which will lead to confidence building
  • Assisting the allocated class teacher with lesion delivery
  • Work collaboratively with all colleagues to support pupil development

What we are looking for

  • Experience in similar roles such as support work with children
  • Experience of supporting children with additional needs
  • An understanding, patient and child-focused approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
  • Minimum Qualification of GSCE C grade or Equivalent

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
