SEN Teaching Assistant - Autism Resource Base
Location: Cardiff
Start Date: After October Half Term
Pay: £92.63 per day
Contract: Full-Time, Monday to Friday

Teaching Personnel are seeking a caring, resilient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist Autism Resource Base within a supportive primary school in Cardiff.
This rewarding role involves supporting children with Autism, including those who are non-verbal and pre-verbal, helping them access learning, develop communication skills, and achieve their individual targets in a nurturing environment.
The Role
- Supporting pupils with Autism on a 1:1 and small group basis.
- Communicating effectively with non-verbal and pre-verbal children using a range of communication strategies.
- Assisting with sensory activities tailored to individual needs.
- Supporting pupils with cooking and life skills sessions.
- Helping to develop gross motor and fine motor skills through structured activities.
- Encouraging positive behaviour, social development and independence.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff and external professionals to provide the best outcomes for pupils.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with children or young people with Autism and additional learning needs is desirable.
- Patient, empathetic and adaptable in their approach.
- Confident supporting pupils with varying communication needs.
- A strong team player who can build positive relationships with colleagues, pupils and families.
- Passionate about making a difference to children's lives.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
