Teaching Assistant – SEMH Primary School (North Manchester)

We are excited to be recruiting a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our warm and supportive team within a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) Primary School in North Manchester.
In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting both the teacher and our incredible pupils—each with their own unique strengths, needs, and personalities. Our school is committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where every child can grow, achieve, and feel valued.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting teachers in delivering creative, engaging, and inclusive learning experiences
- Anticipating and responding to the needs of students with a range of additional and complex needs
- Helping create a calm, structured, and positive learning environment
- Being a consistent, trusted adult for children who need stability, encouragement, and patience
Essential Requirements
- Experience working with vulnerable children or adults
- Availability during school hours (Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm)
- A genuine passion for helping children thrive
Desirable but Not Essential
- Experience as a teaching assistant supporting SEN/SEMH pupils
- Strong behaviour management strategies
- A proactive, resilient, and nurturing approach to challenges

Vetting Requirements
As part of our commitment to safeguarding, this role is subject to:
- Two years of employment references
- Safeguarding training
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
