Job description

Sports Coach – SEND Schools | Full Time | September 2026 Start

We are looking for energetic and passionate Sports Coaches to work within SEND schools supporting children and young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs through physical activity and sport.

This full-time role starting in September 2026 is ideal for individuals with coaching experience who are passionate about using sport to build confidence, engagement, teamwork, and emotional wellbeing.

The Role:

  • Delivering and supporting sports sessions and physical activities
  • Using sport as a tool to engage students with SEMH needs
  • Promoting positive behaviour, teamwork, and self-confidence
  • Supporting students both in and out of the classroom
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and staff

Requirements:

  • Background in sports coaching, fitness, or physical education preferred
  • Experience working with children or young people desirable
  • Calm, resilient, and positive approach
  • Passion for supporting students with additional needs
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
