We’re looking for a passionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive specialist setting in Bristol. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on building positive relationships and helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

You’ll support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them feel safe, engaged, and ready to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

‍ What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting students on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Managing challenging behaviour using positive strategies
  • Building trust and promoting emotional wellbeing
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and progress

✅ What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs
  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Team player with a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners ❤️
  • Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
