Locations: Bristol, Bath & Weston-super-Mare

Hours: Full-Time | Monday to Friday | 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Teaching Personnel is working with a range of schools across Bristol, Bath, and Weston-super-Mare to recruit dedicated Teaching Assistants ready to start in September. These are full-time opportunities, and we’re encouraging candidates to secure their role now ahead of the new academic year.

What You’ll Be Doing:
• Supporting pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour in the classroom
• Building positive, trusting relationships to support emotional regulation
• Working 1:1 or in small groups to support learning and behaviour
• Assisting teachers in delivering structured, engaging lessons
• Implementing behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques
• Promoting a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment
• Encouraging social development, confidence, and resilience
• Supporting personalised learning plans tailored to individual needs

What We’re Looking For:
• No formal qualifications required — just a genuine passion for supporting young people
• A calm, patient, and resilient approach to behaviour support
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
• An Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one — we’ll help!)
• Completion of Level 2 Safeguarding Training (provided by Teaching Personnel)
• Experience with SEMH, behaviour, or youth work is highly beneficial, but not essential
