SEND Teaching Assistant – Schools Across Bristol

Location: Bristol
Job Type: Full-time / Part-time / Long-term Opportunities
Salary: £92 - £100 per day (6.5hours)

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are currently recruiting caring, patient, and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to work across a range of supportive and welcoming schools throughout Bristol.

This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who want to make a genuine difference in the lives of pupils with additional needs, helping them achieve both academically and personally.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils with a variety of additional needs including Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, and learning disabilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support within the classroom
  • Help create a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
  • Encourage pupil independence, confidence, and social development
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable but not essential
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education, care, or SEND support are beneficial

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
