Teaching Assistant – Sports Background (SEN & SEMH Schools)

Location: Bristol & Weston-super-Mare
Setting: SEN & SEMH Schools (Key Stages 1–4)
Daily Pay: £92–£100
Start Date: September Roles Available & Ongoing Opportunities
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm (may vary by school)
Schedule: Monday to Friday | Term-Time Only

Are you a sports coach looking for your next opportunity? We’re seeking enthusiastic and driven Teaching Assistants to support pupils in Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) schools across Bristol and Weston-super-Mare.

You’ll be supporting students aged 5–16 who may present with:
Mental health needs
️ Communication difficulties
Emotional & behavioural challenges
♿ Physical disabilities

If you’re energetic, resilient, and confident in behaviour management, this is a great chance to transfer your coaching experience into a meaningful role within education.

Your Role Will Include:
Providing 1:1 or small group support within SEN/SEMH settings
Promoting positive behaviour and active engagement
Assisting with learning and classroom-based activities
Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
Collaborating with teachers and wider support staff
September starts available, with opportunities for permanent roles for the right candidates

Who We’re Looking For:
A genuine interest in education and supporting young people
Strong communication and behaviour management skills
A background in sports coaching (highly desirable)
Previous school experience is helpful but not essential
Empathy, resilience, and a proactive mindset

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
