Undergraduate Teaching Assistant Role
Locations: Bristol, Bath, and Gloucestershire
Start Date: September 2025
Key Stages: 1–4
Pay Rate: £89–£100 per day

Are you a current university student looking for flexible work that fits around your studies? Teaching Personnel is now recruiting a new team of teaching assistants for the 2025/2026 academic year to support students with special educational needs (SEN). These may include mental health challenges, physical disabilities, and emotional or behavioural difficulties.

This role requires a calm, patient, and empathetic approach. You’ll be working with students aged 5 to 16, playing a vital part in their education and overall development.


Position Overview

  • Start Date: September 2025

  • Locations: Bristol, Bath, and Gloucestershire

  • Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (may vary by school)

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, term time only

  • Potential for a permanent role for standout candidates


Your Responsibilities

  • Provide support to students with SEN in both one-on-one and small group settings

  • Collaborate with other teaching assistants to enhance the learning environment

  • Build positive, supportive relationships with students, helping them feel secure and encouraged

  • Assist with classroom tasks and learning activities as needed


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Passionate about education and eager to make a difference—whether starting out or continuing in the field

  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills

  • No formal experience necessary—just a desire to help and the motivation to learn

  • Any personal or professional experience with SEN or challenging behaviour is a bonus, though not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
