SEN Teaching Assistant – KS1 | Full-Time | Long-Term | Blackpool

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Blackpool to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child in Key Stage 1 with physical disabilities. This is a long-term role starting in January, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The Role:

You will be working 1:1 with a child who requires physical support and tailored learning strategies to access the curriculum. Your role will involve:

• Supporting mobility and physical needs throughout the school day
• Assisting with personal care when required
• Adapting learning materials to suit the child’s needs
• Collaborating with the class teacher and SENCO to implement EHCP targets
• Creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for someone who is:

• Patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting children with additional needs
• Experienced in working with children with physical disabilities (desirable but not essential)
• Knowledgeable about SEN strategies and inclusive practices
• Able to work effectively as part of a team and independently
• Committed to making a positive impact on a child’s educational journey

Qualifications & Experience:

• TA qualification or recent experience
• Experience in a school or care setting supporting children with SEN
• Manual handling or moving and handling training is advantageous
