Teaching Assistant – Primary & Secondary SEN

Location: Basingstoke
Hours: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, Term Time Only
Pay: Equivalent to £14.25 per hour
Start: September

Are you passionate about helping children and young people thrive? We’re looking for a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming specialist SEN school in Basingstoke.

You’ll support pupils across both primary and secondary age groups, helping them engage with learning, build confidence and develop greater independence. The school supports pupils with a range of needs, including Autism (ASC), MLD/SLD, SLCN, developmental and communication needs.

The Role

You’ll work alongside teachers and a wider team to provide personalised support through:

• One-to-one and small-group learning support

• Helping pupils engage with lessons and activities

• Supporting communication, confidence and independence

• Helping with routines, transitions and emotional regulation

• Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils

• Supporting individual EHCP outcomes where appropriate

No previous SEN experience is essential. Experience in education, childcare, care, healthcare, youth work, mentoring, sports coaching or other people-focused roles is welcomed.
