SEN Teaching Assistant - Didsbury, South Manchester

ADHD teaching assistant required in East Didsbury, M20.

Teaching Personnel are seeking a reliable and pro-active Year 5 Teaching assistant who can provide one to one support to a year 5 pupil who is currently undergoing the first stages of their Education, health and care plan. The pupil is portraying traits of ADHD by having a very short attention spam and finding it very difficult to listen and follow instructions whilst integrated into the full class.

As a 1:1 teaching assistant, you will be supporting the teacher by ensuring the year 5 pupil fully understands the instructions of the work and is able to access the curriculum at a suitable level.

The role would be full time but working on a rotation basis with this particular child. You would share the role with another support assistant so would spend sometime doing small group work and general classroom duties.

The child can be physically and verbally aggressive so someone with experience of this would work well here. Being Team Teach or Moving & Handling trained would be advantageous but not essential as training can be provided.
