Teaching assistants required in a Bradford Primary Alternative Provision

We are currently working with a primary SEN School in Bradford and they are looking to employ a Teaching assistant to support young people with SEMH and behavioural difficulties. Ideally the successful Teaching assistant will have relevant training and a background working in special education. However the school have disclosed that the most important trait for all applicants is possessing the right attitude; being pro active, using initiative, being flexible and ultimately have a passion to work with children with special educational needs and challenging behaviour.

Working as a Teaching Assistant here, you will be required to support the students within the classroom settings on a 1:1 basis being committed to supporting their academic development in an interactive, nurturing manner. You will support the Teacher by delivering very personalised sessions to the young people in your class.

The suitable candidates will have the following:

  • Experience with children with: SEMH, SEN in educational environments
  • Passion to work with children with additional needs
  • Enthusiastic and nurturing personality
  • Any relevant experience with PECS, Team- teach and Makaton
  • Immediate start, ideally full time however the school do have part time opportunities available.

The school are looking for Teaching Assistant's who have a passion to support students with challenging behaviour and will be able to reflect school vision and their values. This opportunity will be an amazing start for anybody who wishes to pursue a rewarding career within alternative provisions.
