SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1) – Full Time -  PR4, South of Preston

Start Date: After Easter Holidays – Week Commencing 20th April 2026
Pay Rate: £13.75–£14.50 per hour (dependent on experience)

A primary school located south of Preston in the PR4 area is seeking a committed and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in Year 3 on a 1:1 basis. This is a full-time role suited to someone passionate about inclusive education and confident in supporting children with a range of additional needs.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide consistent 1:1 support, ensuring the pupil can access learning and develop both academically and socially.

Role Details:

-          Full time – Monday to Friday

-          Hours: 8:45am – 3:30pm

-          Start Date: W/C 20th April 2026

-          Location: PR4 (South of Preston)

-          Pay: £13.75–£14.50 per hour

This role requires adaptability, initiative and the ability to implement tailored strategies to support the pupil’s needs effectively.

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

-          Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs

-          Strong communication skills

-          Confident behaviour management

-          Patience, empathy and a nurturing approach

Desirable:

-          SEN-related qualifications

-          Previous experience working 1:1

-          Understanding of strategies used to support pupils with needs such as ASD, ADHD or speech and language difficulties

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
