SEN Teacher
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
Teaching Personnel are looking for Teachers with experience working with students that present with Attachment Disorder and Mental Health Difficulties.
Many of these students are in residential homes or foster placements and many of them do not currently have a school place, therefore we are looking for tutors to work with them on a 1:1 basis until they have a full time educational provision.
Most of the students will be working towards their GCSE's but some may be focussing more on vocational subjects or Functional Skills, therefore tutors with experience across a broad curriculum are desirable.
Key requirements:
- QTS or FE Teaching qualifications
- Experience working in a school or residential setting with children who have Special Educational Needs
- Calm and patient, nurturing personality
- Experienced managing challenging behaviour and anxiety
- Confident to implement and follow Individual Education Plans and be willing to contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans where required
- Confident to implement firm but fair boundaries at all times, maintaining a professional relationship with your students and with residential staff/carers
- Team Teach training or other equivalent behaviour management training desirable but not essential
For additional information, please contact Emma Gale as soon as possible as we have a huge demand for tutors currently!
