SEN Support Assistant

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting on behalf of a one of our fantastic SEND provisions in Newcastle who is seeking a full time Learning Support Assistants to work with pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties.

The role will require you to support with classroom based tasks and also work on a 1:1 basis supporting children with a range of special educational needs including;

• Learning disabilities
• Physical disabilities
• Cerebral palsy
• Epilepsy
• Autism

You may be required to support with personal care and experience with PEG feeding is advantageous. Candidates with qualifications in Health and Social Care are also highly desired. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work as part of a highly skilled and passionate team.

Teaching Personnel can offer competitive rates of pay of GBP275 - GBP350 per week as well as the opportunity to up skill your professional development by utilising our CPD Academy. You will also be supported by our specialist SEND Team who all come from backgrounds in education and knowledge of the current market.

Essential

• Be comfortable carrying out personal care
• Have a nurturing and patient manner
• Willingness to undertake further training
• Come from a care or education background

Desired

• Manual Handling Trained
• PEG feeding trained

To be accepted for this role, you must have a Child Workforce Only DBS that is registered on the Update Service, or be happy to apply for one through Teaching Personnel.
