PE SEN Learning Support Assistant

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a PE Teaching Assistant for a school in East SussexThe SEN school supports both Primary and Secondary school children. Strong links are maintained with the local schools. This position is ideal for qualified teachers, NQT’s or someone looking to gain experience working in a school with Special Educational Needs.

As a PE Teaching Assistant you will be working within the class to support the class teacher with their lessons, you will be working alongside a team of support staff in class, and you will be working on a 1-1 basis with SEN students. You may also be required to assist teachers going off site to deliver Outdoor Education such as Rock Climbing, Paddle Boarding, Sailing etc. 

The ideal candidate for this role would be:

  • A calm and patient practitioner
  • Professional or personal experience working with children and/or adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Dedicated and committed to making a real change in young people’s lives
  • Have some experience working with children in a school setting or similar 

What we expect from you:

  • A Child only DBS on the Update Service or a willingness to get one
  • Willingness to work between 08:30-15:30

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
