SEN Provision Requires Teaching Assistant

Job description

Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants are required at various Primary and Secondary SEN schools in the Alton and surrounding area. The schools that we work with cater for pupils with a diverse range of needs to include learning difficulties such as Autism; physical difficulties; hearing and vision impairments and speech and language difficulties.

As an SEN TA, it is vital that you are patient, understanding and compassionate. You will experience a variety of challenges on a daily basis so it is very important you have the ability to react quickly and accordingly, while demonstrating initiative.

Candidates must have:

  • Experience with children or adults with learning and/or physical difficulties
  • Knowledge of additional needs
  • Interest in working with children
  • A positive and enthusiastic approach
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant is desirable
  • A relevant qualification is desirable

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
