An all-age through SEN school located in Plymouth are currently recruiting for a Behaviour specialist Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis to support pupils with ASC and challenging behaviour.
About the role:
- SEN Teaching Assistant
- Supporting a pupil with challenging behaviour and ASC
- Long Term Full Time (Monday to Friday 8:30 - 15:30), term time only
- Start Immediately
- Working in a small class with pupils led by a class teacher and supported by another 2 Teaching Assistants
About the School:
This SEN School in Plymouth caters for children and young people with a wide range of learning difficulties, including Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and complex needs. All the pupils have an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP).
The ideal candidate / desired skills and experience:
- Available to start immediately
- Commit to a full time long term role (5 days a week)
- PECS and/or Makaton experience
- MAPA or Team Teach (or equivalent positive handling training)
- SEMH/SEN experience
- Engaging personality
- The ability to build strong relationships
- Teaching assistant/ Learning Support Assistant
- Youth work / Support Work / Care Work/ Sports background

Full assistance will be provided should you need to apply for a new check, at a standard cost of £44, plus an annual subscription fee of £13 for the Update Service.
