  • Weekly Pay
  • Access to training such as Team Teach, EAL, Moving and Handling, Introduction to Autism, and Effective Behaviour Management

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a specialist SEN School in Harrogate who are seeking an experienced Sensory Support Assistant to join their team.

The school caters for pupils aged 3-19 with complex physical and sensory impairments. It will be your role to support pupils to access a highly bespoke and tailored curriculum. You must have experience of supporting young people or adults with physical disabilities and/or additional needs. You will be comfortable providing personal care and ideally will possess a Moving and Handling certificate (although this training can be provided).

You will be required to liaise with a multi disciplinary team consisting of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists and teaching staff. You may also be required to support these colleagues in implementing specific therapy and educational programmes, so an understanding of person centred Educational, Health and Care Plans is essential. You will be able to adapt resources to meet specific pupil needs and have the ability to effectively and accurately monitor and record development in these programmes.

We have established a large local and national presence – offering a diverse range of work in a variety of settings. From short term and emergency cover to long term and permanent positions, we are happy to be able to offer you flexibility to suit your lifestyle. Our CPD academy will ensure that you are kept up to date through relevant courses, with Team Teach, EAL, Moving and Handling, Introduction to Autism, and Effective Behaviour Management just some of the specialist SEN sessions you can benefit from as a registered candidate with Teaching Personnel. We are committed to finding you your perfect role.
