SEMH Teaching Assistant - Middlesbrough (TS6)

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with an SEND School in Middlesbrough to recruit a full time Teaching Assistant to support students with SEMH across Key Stage 3 and 4 on a temporary basis. There is strong potential for a permanent contract to the right candidate. A Team Teach qualification is desirable within this role, however not mandatory.

The school caters for students with SEMH and has onsite counsellors and occupational therapists who the successful candidate will work in collaboration with to follow students EHCP and monitor progress. The candidate will be responsible for carrying out support interventions and taking part in the schools small class lessons for life skills as well as the national curriculum. The school has a high emphasis on preparing students for further education, training and employment so the candidate will be enthusiastic about supporting students within this area. The role will also involve supporting students during school trips into the community.

The ideal candidate will have:

- At least three months experience working with SEND pupils

- TA Qualification, Level 3 (or relevant experience/degree)

- Excellent behaviour management skills

- A patient and caring manner
