SEN 1:1 teaching assistant KS1- SEMH, Primary School in Trafford

  • Are you an experienced Primary Teaching assistant that is looking to build up your experience in an inner city school?

  • Salary- £11,998 - £15,298

An Outstanding Catholic Primary school in Trafford, Manchester are looking for an experienced Teaching assistant to suppoort a child with social and emotional difficulties in a mixed Year 1 and 2 class.

The school has a fantastic reputation and is over subscribed every year. Recently graded Outstanding in every area by OFSTED, the head is looking to employ a strong candidate who can build strong relationships quickly with the child. To ensure the child makes sufficient progress and feels secure in school life, the ideal candidate must adopt a nurturing approach, and experience of working with children or young people with social and emotional or mental health difficulties is advantageous.

As part of the role the ideal candidate will be expected to:

• Follow the child individual learning plan

• Support the child in her learning on a 1:1 and group basis

• Engage the child in ‘team games’ during lunch and break time to help build social skills with peers in her class

• Liaise with the class teacher and SENCO on a daily basis to evaluate and reflect on the child’s learning to ensure the correct provision is on place to aid her development and integration in school.
