Youth Work Teaching Assistant - SEMH school - Manchester

  • Ofsted 'GOOD' secondary provision
  • Caters for young people who have social and emotional challenges
  • Opportunity to enhance future Teacher Training applications

SEPTEMBER 2017

Our partner school, a secondary provision for children who have social and emotional difficulties, require a number of youth work teaching assistants to start temporary contracts from the start of the new academic year.

The provision is part of a cluster of schools in the Manchester area that cater for children and young people aged 11-16, the majority of whom have Education, Health and Care plans.

There are a number of youth work teaching assistant positions available, full time, part time, short term, long term and permanent.

The provision require individuals who -

* have a youth work, teaching assistant or similar background

* can support the young person's learning up to GCSE level

* can manage challenging behaviour

* have the ability to engage the hardest to reach young people

* have a level 2 Education/Youth Work/Teaching Assistant qualification (minimum)

* ideally have a Team-Teach, SCIP, TCI qualification or willingness to achieve (Teaching Personnel can provide)

* are proactive and can use their own initiative

* hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle
