Job description

Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs? Do you have previous experience working in schools, SEN, or SEMH provisions? We are seeking a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team full-time, supporting pupils in SEMH settings across the Salford area.

About the Role:
As a SEMH TA, you will work closely with teachers and specialist staff to provide targeted support to pupils with SEMH needs. You will help create a positive, nurturing environment that promotes learning, emotional wellbeing, and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs

  • Assist in the implementation of individual education and behaviour plans

  • Support pupils in managing emotions and developing social skills

  • Liaise with teaching staff and SENCo to monitor pupil progress

  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and supportive classroom environment

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in schools, SEN, or SEMH provisions

  • A genuine passion for supporting children with SEMH needs

  • Ability to work full-time and commit to the role

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Patience, empathy and resilience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
