SEMH Teaching Assistant
Job description
Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs? Do you have previous experience working in schools, SEN, or SEMH provisions? We are seeking a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team full-time, supporting pupils in SEMH settings across the Salford area.
About the Role:
As a SEMH TA, you will work closely with teachers and specialist staff to provide targeted support to pupils with SEMH needs. You will help create a positive, nurturing environment that promotes learning, emotional wellbeing, and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs

Assist in the implementation of individual education and behaviour plans
-
Support pupils in managing emotions and developing social skills
-
Liaise with teaching staff and SENCo to monitor pupil progress
-
Contribute to maintaining a safe and supportive classroom environment
Requirements:

Previous experience working in schools, SEN, or SEMH provisions

A genuine passion for supporting children with SEMH needs
-
Ability to work full-time and commit to the role

Strong communication and teamwork skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
